She can melt anyone's heart. | ![]() |

We wanted to say thanks for the work you do at MFOA. We adopted "Faith"
this past Saturday and hoped to extend to MFOA, especially Erin, some
reassurance about "Faith's" care. We decided to change her name to
"Cindel," which we pieced together from the word Cinder (like "soot" for
her black coat and also "ashes" for the past she's coming out of). The
rest is just a similarity to "Cinderella" for a happy ending.
She made herself at home on the couch right away, but is still very wary of uncarpeted floor. Unfortunately for her, the house is mainly hardwood floors and stained concrete! We moved an area rug from the dining area into the middle of the living area so that she stays in the midst of everything. It's kind of funny that she acts like there is an invisible barrier around the perimeter of that rug. :)

Today we laid a path of blankets from the area rug to her food and water bowl in the kitchen. Though timid, she'll follow that path. We're sure she'll be brave enough to conquer the floor fear soon. She certainly is a smart one. Without any training at all she's already mastered going out via the electric dog door. She's a little skiddish about coming back in so we have to open the main door for her reentry, but I imagine she'll be doing this on her own by the end of the week. We lost our dear dog, Lucky, after 12 years to cancer in September, and our 5 year old dog has really been lonely. She is so excited to have a new friend! The 3 of us will be good for Cindel, and she'll be good for us as well. Thank you for taking her in and keeping her well until we could be brought together. We hope there are many, many more MFOA happy endings (well, beginnings) to come! Lisa and Jake
